Jane Sansome
Regional Director
Jane Sansome joined HCP in 2004 and is our Regional Director for London and a member of the Executive Management Group, the senior team that leads the performance delivery of the Company.
Jane’s primary role is as Chief Executive of Capital Hospitals Ltd, the company delivering the £1bn Barts and The London New Hospitals project, Britain’s largest PFI hospital scheme. HCP holds the concession management for this landmark project for the life of the project and Jane has taken it from Preferred Bidder, through Financial Close, mobilisation of interim operations and phased handovers.
Jane leads the partnership between the shareholders, consortium and the Trust, and is accountable for all aspects of project delivery including FM sub-contracts and the construction programme.
At the outset of her involvement with the project, Jane spent two years leading the FM negotiations on behalf of the SPC preparing for the TUPE (and Retention of Employment) transfer of 1,000 staff. Since the contract signing in 2006, Jane has overseen the construction programme and the introduction and delivery of FM services.
Jane is currently leading the consortium in their preparations for the handover of the Royal London Hospital in late 2011 and the mobilisation of the FM services into the new hospital which consists of two 17-storey towers and one-10 storey tower.
Jane is also currently developing a programme to re-examine the ways in which FM services are delivered in NHS healthcare environments. She is aiming to establish an FM model of service delivery that complements the Trust’s new values, re-aligned clinical provision and improves the overall patient experience.
Prior to joining HCP in 2004, Jane has held a number of senior, strategic positions in healthcare projects, working for both the public and private sectors, including Director of Operations for the Ministry of Defence’s Royal Hospital Haslar; Director of Strategic Alliances for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
